As you may have already guessed, the primary difference between the two has to do with whether or not water is added to the concrete mix. With a dry mix plant, the dry ingredients that make up the concrete are mixed together. However, no water is added. Instead, the dry mixture is loaded into a concrete mixer truck. From there, water is added to the mixture and the batch of concrete is mixed inside the mixing drum on the truck.
With wet batch plants, the process is essentially the same. All of the dry ingredients are combined in the proper ratios to create the concrete mixture. The primary difference, however, is that water is then added to the mix and the concrete is mixed in the batching plant.

Dry batch concrete plants provide a little bit more flexibility in terms of how far the concrete can be transported. The water doesn’t need to be added to the mix at the concrete batch plant in Kenya. Instead, the dry ingredients can be hauled as far as necessary before adding the water to create the mix. That means that the concrete can be transported over a much greater distance.
With a wet batch plant, on the other hand, the concrete is already mixed by the time it leaves the plant. If it isn’t delivered within a specific amount of time, it will begin to cure. Although products can be added to the mix to slow down the curing time, the total distance over which it can be transported is usually a lot lower than with a dry concrete mixture.
One advantage of wet batch plants, however, is that they generally provide a more consistent mix. Since all of the ingredients are mixed together in a huge batch, the entire batch has the same basic consistency.
With dry mix plants, there can be slight variations from one load to the next since each batch is mixed individually. In most cases, this isn’t a problem. For applications requiring extreme precision, however, it may be better to use concrete from a wet batching plant.
